Welcome to the Watson Genealogical Research Website!

Jedburgh Abbey and Cemetery

My Watson ancestors are hidden by the mists of time and research has stalled in the search for the parents of my 5x great-grandfather, Sergeant Major James Watson. Both the paper and DNA trails have dried up, so I decided to create this website in the hope of collaborating with other Watson descendants (both from this family group and from others around the world) to bring the giant brick wall tumbling down. Maybe, just maybe, new connections will be found.

This site includes my research from the last 20 years and my family tree which features the descendants of Sergeant Major James Watson and his wife Ann Agnes Duncan. Married in Cupar, Fife in 1800, James and Anne with their first son moved to Kelso, Roxburghshire around 1804.  Kelso was not their home for long within a decade they had settled in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire where they remained until their deaths.  They are buried in the Jedburgh Abbey cemetery. Their descendants are scattered around the world, separated from their Scottish roots. But we long to rediscover our family history and identity.

Take a moment to explore the site and check out the family tree, forums, and research pages. If you wish to participate in this research project or have any questions, you can contact me at rosalie@watsongenealogy.com.
